Fringed Tulip Honeymoon
T1472
Description
Glowing against a backdrop of lush green, the ethereal white blooms of fringed tulip ‘Honeymoon’ are a stylish addition to spring beds and borders. Buds appear in mid-spring and stems continue to elongate until the flowers bloom in May, adding architectural elegance to the garden and vase.
The crisp white blooms are feathered and fringed at the edges as though touched by frost, adding an exquisite edge to the stunning flowers. Evergreen plants, euphorbia and ferns contrast well with Fringed Tulip ‘Honeymoon’ helping to highlight its immaculate beauty.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
