Normal price with delivery £32.95, offer price £19.75 with FREE delivery, giving you a 40% saving.
There is something quietly gratifying about growing your own saffron. No grand gesture, just the calm reward of tending a flower with centuries of heritage and an unmistakable presence.
These are more than decorative crocus. These are the cultivated lineage of the world’s most storied spice, grown in your soil, by your hand. The experience is as refined as the result: vibrant late-season colour, a window of harvest, and the pleasure of using something from your own garden in your own kitchen.
Each year, de Jager’s Crocus sativus corms are one of our most requested varieties—chosen by gardeners who appreciate quality, seek something quietly extraordinary and which will effortlessly regrow every October.
Available in limited numbers, and once this autumn’s batch is spoken for, we will not offer more until next year.
Reserve your 25 now. Delivery is September for flowering in October. When the garden begins to still, these will just be beginning.
Care Guide
The autumn-flowering species should be planted in August and September- the earlier the planting the better the result. Corms should be planted about 8cm (3”) deep in any good fertile garden soil.
For the best results, plant 8-10cm (3-4”) deep, 5cm (2”) apart, and leave undisturbed. Croci are suitable for a pot or bowl culture, and may also be grown in pebbles and water. It is important to remember that they must not be forced too hard, as too much heat or dryness in the atmosphere will lead to excess of leaf and no flower.
