Bright and cheerful, Lily-flowering Tulips 'La Perla' boast graceful yellow flowers on strong, resilient stems. These tulips exude a sense of vigour and joy, sunny petals bringing warmth and positivity to the garden.
Elegant, lily-like form adds a touch of sophistication, whilst robust stems ensure they stand tall and proud. 'La Perla' tulips are perfect for creating vibrant, uplifting garden displays which celebrate the exuberance of spring.
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
