Allium Red Mohican
M5036
Description
Aptly named Allium ‘Red Mohican’ bears tufted heads of wine-red blooms with tiny white tips. The uniquely shaped flowers are an interesting contrast to other varieties of Allium and are slightly later flowering than most, usually blooming throughout July making them an excellent choice for extending the season.
Popular with bees, hoverflies and summer pollinators, this affable Allium will spice up a summer border, adding height and texture and is excellent for picking.
Alliums thrive in a sunny position in the garden in well-drained, fertile soil where they can naturalise.
Suits both contemporary planting schemes and a traditional, cottage garden style.
Care Guide
Plant in rich, well-drained soil.
The larger bulbs should be planted 10cm (4”) deep and the smaller ones 5cm (2”) deep; they may be left undisturbed for many years.
