Ipheion Mixed
M5556
Description
A fine mixture of blue, white and pink Ipheion varieties.
This late spring, early summer garden gem is so useful for bridging the gap between seasons when sometimes bare spaces can appear in the garden between plants.
Plant the bulbs in clusters or ribbons for waves of colour near the front of garden borders and in rockeries. Ipheion also do well in pots of loam-based compost in full sun.
The delicate flowers are star-shaped, with a darker vein which runs along the centre of each petal. A central heart packed with pollen and nectar makes Ipheion attractive to pollinators and perfect for wildlife-friendly gardens.
Care Guide
Excellent for rockeries or front of borders.
Plant in a sheltered spot, in partial shade in well-drained soil, 2-5 cm deep, 7-10 cm apart. Only a few blooms in the first year, but after a few years will flower profusely.

Alberto Castillo
M5555
Perfect, star-shaped flowers of pure white are produced in abundance on Ipheion ‘Alberto Castillo’ during May and June, with a second flush of flowers in autumn.
The bulbs of this early summer beauty should be planted in autumn, in groups or ribbons near the front of the border, in a rockery, or in containers of loam-based compost. Ipheion prefer full sun and well-drained soil.
Elegant, wiry stems up to 20 cm tall hold the exquisite, sweetly scented flowers above clumps of glaucous foliage.
Ipheion ‘Alberto Castillo’ holds a prestigious Award of Garden Merit for plant excellence and reliability.

Lucillae
M5227
Loose spikes of delicate, sky-blue flowers bloom in profusion on Chionodoxa ‘Luciliae’ during February and March. This intricate beauty is the perfect choice to brighten a dull corner of the garden – ideal for rockeries, alpine borders and for planting beneath large shrubs or trees in dappled shade. Chionodoxas are also wonderful for growing in containers as a pretty, low-growing carpet, from which later flowering bulbs such as Tulips can emerge.
Bulbs will naturalise well in fertile, well-drained soil, returning year after year with their eye-catching show of dazzling blue.
Chionodoxa ‘Luciliae’ has been granted a prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the RHS for its exceptional garden qualities.
