Ipheion Mixed
M5556
Description
A fine mixture of blue, white and pink Ipheion varieties.
This late spring, early summer garden gem is so useful for bridging the gap between seasons when sometimes bare spaces can appear in the garden between plants.
Plant the bulbs in clusters or ribbons for waves of colour near the front of garden borders and in rockeries. Ipheion also do well in pots of loam-based compost in full sun.
The delicate flowers are star-shaped, with a darker vein which runs along the centre of each petal. A central heart packed with pollen and nectar makes Ipheion attractive to pollinators and perfect for wildlife-friendly gardens.
Care Guide
Excellent for rockeries or front of borders.
Plant in a sheltered spot, in partial shade in well-drained soil, 2-5cm (1-2”) deep, 7-10cm (3-4”) apart. Only a few blooms in the first year, but after a few years will flower profusely.
