Fringed Tulip Ogene
T1474
Description
A new and beautifully fresh-looking Fringed Tulip, ‘Ogene’ will add warmth to your spring garden with its sunset colours. Pretty petals of gently streaked blushing-orange are fringed with rich yellow.
For a striking, tonal combination, mix up and plant the bulbs together in a sunny spot with fragrant lily-flowering tulip ‘Ballerina’ and wildly colourful ‘Apricot Parrot’ which will give you a long-lasting display in April and May.
Tulip 'Ogene' is wonderful for cutting and arranging in a large vase, bringing spring sunshine and joy indoors.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.

Bleu Aimable
T1672
Silken, reflexed petals of lavender-blue open up from tight buds in May to produce the most perfect blooms on May Flowering Tulip ‘Bleu Aimable’, making this unusual tulip the star of spring borders and containers. The colours become deeper and richer as the blooms mature.
Acid-green foliage seems to intensify the purple hues and this stunning tulip works equally well with silvery-blue plants in the garden and in the vase.
Late-blooming tulip ‘Bleu Aimable’ is one of the last tulips to bloom, putting on an unmissable encore in the spring garden.

Tuberosa
M5471
Intriguing and distinctive Hermodactylus ‘Tuberosa’ has been in cultivation since 1575, often known as the Snakeshead or Widow Iris.
From a bed of grass-like foliage, the alluring blooms are borne atop 30cm stems during April and May. Velvety black falls are complemented by striking, olive-green petals.
The flowers of Hermodactylus ‘Tuberosa’ produce a delicate fragrance most noticeable on warm days and are excellent for cutting, with a long vase-life.
This Mediterranean native is fully hardy and will flourish in most soil types which are well drained and moderately fertile. Bulbs can be planted to naturalise in grassy areas and will do well in pots, rockeries and sunny borders.
